Wii Balance Board Potential
Question
Wii Fit Balance Board for character movement in an RPG.

What is the potential for using the Wii Fit Balance Board as a "V.R." device for controlling character movement in a virtual space such as in an RPG?
Answer
The Wii Balance Board has pressure sensors in the legs at each of the four corners of the board. It basically turns your body into an analog stick. Equal pressure on each sensor is like centering an analog stick. Any game movement that can be done by moving an analog stick forward, back, left, or right can instead be done by shifting your weight forward, back, left, or right.

A sudden or quick shift in balance is similar to quick motions with an analog stick. A gradual or gentle shift in balance is similar to gentle motions with an analog stick.

The board has potential for children's games.
