| Outlook Extension DLL Error | | Question | | I installed ACT! on my laptop. I think that is when Outlook started the problem saying it could not install the add-in "ActExt.dll". I uninstalled ACT!, reinstalled and same problem. I downloaded the dll and put it in my system 32 folder. I thought that would work but did not. You fixed my 100% CPU with Outlook problem so I'm hoping you can help with this. Thank you! | | Answer | That can be caused by incorrect data in extend.dat, the file used to cache extensions for Outlook.
- Close all programs.
- Locate the extend.dat file using Search for Files and Folders.
- Rename the file to extend.old or extend.pleasework.
- Restart Outlook, and a new extend.dat file will be created with the correct data.
If the problem is solved, you can delete the old renamed file.
