Maximum Transfer Rate for USB 2.0 PCI Card
Question
Hi; If a USB 2.0 PCI card is installed, how could it ever deliver the rated 480MB/sec transfer rates?
Answer
USB 2.0 has a maximum data transfer rate of 480 megabits per second (Mbps). That's equivalent to 60 megabytes per second (MB/sec). The PCI bus provides up to 133 MB/sec data transfer to devices.

USB 1.1 = 12 Mbps (1.5 MB/sec)
USB 2.0 = 480 Mbps (60 MB/sec)
USB 3.0 = 4.8 Gbps (600 MB/sec)

PCI (32-bit 33 MHz) = 133 MB/sec
PCI Express x1 = 250 MB/sec
PCI Express x4 = 1000 MB/sec
PCI Express 2.0 x1 = 500 MB/sec
PCI Express 3.0 x1 = 1000 MB/sec
