LCD Mounted Horizontally Like A Table Surface
Question
I have a question concerning LCD monitors. I am in the planning process of building an upright arcade cabinet. My cabinet will be a close copy of the old Pac Man machines from the early 80's. The monitor in these cabinets were placed almost flat (10 to 20% angle from flat so when you play the game your looking down at the screen). I know that if you take a TV or traditional CRT Monitor and turn it to this angle the screen fades or loses its picture as well as damage can occur. Can an LCD Monitor be placed at this angle without fading/damage? I would like to use an LCD Monitor due to size and weight characteristics as well as its Window capabilities to play more modern games.
Answer
LCD monitors share the same display technology used in mobile computers, handheld game systems, portable media players (e.g. iPod, Zune), mobile phones, and digital cameras. LCD monitors can be mounted and viewed horizontally like a table surface without problems.
