Cel-Shading
Question
I am not much of an expert on video game graphics but I am curious about one thing. When it comes to polygons/ cell-shaded, would the cell-shaded graphics push the CPU harder than polygon graphics or vice-versa?
Answer
Cel-shading (or toon shading) uses polygon graphics. The difference is only in the shading of the polygon surfaces. Cel-shading uses just a few levels of lighting intensity with a sharp transition between levels, while typical 3D computer graphics shading uses a smooth gradient of lighting intensity.

Cel-shading does not push the CPU harder or softer.
