Broadband Vs Dial-Up Internet; What is DSL?
Question
Hey Hank, what is the difference between Brodband internet connection and Dial-up internet connection? How is Broadband quicker and better? What is DSL? Thanks
Answer
First of all, Broadband Internet is definitely quicker and better than Dial-Up Internet. DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) is one type of broadband Internet. Cable is another type of broadband.

Speed Comparison
Dial-Up = 28 to 56 Kbps
Broadband = 1500 Kbps

Thus, broadband is over 26 times faster than dial-up, and sometimes broadband is over 50 times faster. The difference is very noticeable when using the Internet. Besides being much faster, broadband is more reliable than dial-up due to broadband's digital nature and "always on" connectivity. With broadband, when you turn on your computer, you're already connected to the Internet and ready to surf at high speeds.

If you are a serious or casual Internet user, broadband will make using the Internet much more enjoyable.
